The author wanted a charming and imaginative children’s book set in the magical world of Fibberton. The story follows mysterious gnomes who teach children an important lesson about honesty and telling the truth. The goal was to create engaging illustrations that would bring the characters, magical world, and story to life for young readers.
We chose a warm watercolor-inspired illustration style to create a soft, magical feel suitable for young children. I developed the characters, environments, and visual storytelling around the author’s direction, paying close attention to expressions, emotions, composition, and story details. Throughout the project, I worked closely with the author and incorporated feedback and revisions to make sure every illustration matched the vision of the book.
The complete 34-page illustrated children’s book was successfully delivered, including the cover and interior artwork. The illustrations created a consistent magical world for Fibberton while supporting the story’s characters and message. The project was completed through close collaboration, revisions, and attention to detail, resulting in a finished book ready for publication.
