The author came with a clear vision for a children’s ABC book built around golf. The project required illustrations for all 26 letters, along with a cover and additional supporting images.
The author already had a specific visual direction in mind for the children and wanted the golf scenes to feel recognizable and believable while remaining fun and appropriate for young readers.
The project began with developing the drawings and establishing the overall visual direction. Because the book featured golf, particular attention was given to making the clubs, swings, poses, courses, and other golf elements visually convincing.
We worked through several rounds of feedback, refining the characters, compositions, and details before moving forward with the final artwork. Once the illustrations were approved, I continued with the coloring and completed the remaining pages while keeping the style consistent across the entire ABC series.
The final project included a complete 26-letter ABC illustration series, a custom book cover, and additional golf-themed artwork for the supporting pages.
The finished illustrations combine a playful children’s-book aesthetic with recognizable golf environments and activities. The project was developed through multiple rounds of collaboration and revisions, resulting in artwork that closely matched the author’s original vision.
“This was a challenging project - a complete children's ABC book, including the cover, one page for each of the 26 letters, and a few additional pictures for other pages in the book. I had a particular style in mind. Aadil's style was a good fit for what I was looking for. I had a good idea of what I wanted on each page as well as roughly what the children in the book would look like. Aadil was able to take my ideas and implement them. I don't want to give the indication that this was one pass and done. Aadil is not a golfer, so it took some time to convey enough about golf in order for the pictures to look reasonably accurate. Asdil took my feedback and did his best to make the required changes. We would then iterate again until we had what I was looking for. The approach that we took was for Aadil to create drawings first. After several rounds of feedback and updates, he moved on to coloring the drawings. We went through several rounds of review and updates until every page was perfect. Aadil was easy to work with and quick to turn around updates and deliver them back to me. I am very happy with the result.”
